Ability to switch off 'reuse previous value' pin either by blocking its action, or by removing it from the form.

The reason for this request is that I am using a field to define feature type. If the reuse pin is activated, the field is populated with inappropriate data based on the last entry, instead of the desired value. I need the field to populate from a value list if it is visible on the form, or a default value if the field has been hidden. If the last entered value is used, my database is corrupted as incorrect values are entered.
